New Year, New Blog Goals

Hello lovelies! I hope you have all had an amazing Christmas and New Year, I know I certainly did. It's been a little while since I posted, and I'd really wanted to get this post up on the 1st, but I was stuck writing an assignment and just didn't manage to get around to it. I'm ready to get back on the blogging bus though, because lets face it... I haven't blogged consistently since I went back to University really, so I figured what better way to get myself back into and motivated than by setting myself up some goals for the coming year!

My main goal is a pretty obvious one and it's to make sure that I am actually posting regularly. My poor little blog must be feeling so neglected right now (sorry blog!), so that is something that definitely needs to change. I started my Masters in September and have been pretty overwhelmed with the time commitment it has needed to be honest... totally naive I know. Turns out, going from doing three modules a semester at undergraduate, to six modules a semester at masters level is pretty demanding on my time. Either way, I ideally want to be posting once a week, most likely on a Friday but if I cant manage one week I'll settle for posting a minimum of four times a month. This lets me be a bit cheeky if I miss one week because I can make up for it by posting twice on another week. Pretty simple goal to reach I am hoping.

Another goal I'd like to set for myself is attending more blogging events and really getting to know the bloggers that are local to me. I attended a couple of events hosted by Ellefluence last year and they were honestly amazing. I had so much fun and totally came out of my shell. I'm usually pretty shy and get super anxious when I'm meeting new people so even going alone to an event was a big deal for me. It's definitely something I'm proud of myself for doing, and definitely something I'd like to keep doing this year.

This goal is one I've been wanting to do for a while, but haven't felt hugely comfortable doing, and that is starting to engage with people on Snapchat. I absolutely love, love, loveeeee watching other bloggers snapchats but haven't ever felt comfortable talking on mine because of my accent and the fact that I am rarely done up nicely. This is something I'm planning on getting over this year... although how soon, I'm not sure. 2017 is definitely going to be the year I start to snapchat properly though.

I'd also really like to at least double my Bloglovin followers. Despite not being much of a frequent poster (read that as a rare poster), I managed to get myself over 100 followers on Bloglovin which I was pretty pleased about, so I am hoping I can blow that out of the water this year with a little dedication. I know numbers aren't everything, but they are such a great way to monitor growth and I definitely want to keep an eye on how my blog is growing! If you want to give me a hand with that, you can follow me by clicking the bloglovin icon on your right!

Another numbers one here, I'd like to beat my overall page views for last year as well. I figure this is a pretty reasonable goal to have considering I'm going to be putting a whole lot more time and effort into my blog... so hopefully this will just naturally happen. Last year I had 12,556 page views... so this year I will hopefully finish on (at minimum), 25,112. I'm not going to pretend that reaching that number doesn't feel a little intimidating, but at the end of the day it's just a goal... and not the end of the world if I don't quite manage it.

So I've clearly got some pretty ambitious goals this year, but I am super excited about getting to work on them already. I'm going to have to work on balancing my time between uni work and my blog better, with uni work obviously being the priority but I'm hoping I'll get the hang of it somehow! Fingers crossed for me! If you've got any goals leave a comment below, I'd love to read about them.

Much love,

  1. The posting more regularly and attending more blogger events are goals I can relate to for this year too - definitely on the to do list! Also working with more brands and doing more collabs with other bloggers!

  3. Really liked reading this post. It can be hard to find time to blog whilst at uni especially doing a MA degree! It can be hard to find out about blogging events aswell which is hard. All of these goals I'm sure you'll achieve :)
