#UrbanNCL: Urban Decay Blogger Event

Credit: Laura Pearman
So last week I was lucky enough to attend an Urban Decay event in Newcastle and I couldn't have been more thrilled. I am a die hard Urban Decay fan and have all the Naked palettes bar the original (I know, I don't know how I never bought that). This is my first makeup orientated event so I know you all know how exciting that is!

With so many bloggers going, taking a +1 wasn't an option for little old, socially anxious, me, so it was a huge deal to go on my own... but I wasn't missing this. The twitter hashtag for the event ended up being amazing for connecting with other bloggers who were going and I ended up arranging to meet with Beth, Katie, Chloe and Rebecca beforehand at Turtle Bay for a couple of cocktails... which went down a treat and really helped me feel more at ease.

The event itself was organised by Laura from Ellefluence - an amazing platform for connecting influencers with brands - who did an amazing job. We were met at the door by photographer Laura Pearman before being immediately handed a glass of fizz... what better way to my heart. We all got seated pretty quickly so we could kick off the masterclass. I was sat front and center (literally), so had the best view of the magic happening!

While the UD team were talking us through the makeup looks, the latest UD products were being passed around the group so we could get up close and personal with the products. Once the Spectrum palette reached me, I was straight in swatching... I just couldn't help myself. The colours were just stunning. A big surprise for us was the amazing food that also started being passed around, courtesy of Rub Smokehouse. They served up pigs in blankets, pulled pork burgers, corn dogs just to name a few and I absolutely demolished everything. The corndogs may have made my night, not going to lie.

Once the masterclass was finished - and we finished eating - we headed downstairs where we could buy the products we wanted and were given an amazing little goody bag. There was lots of information inside and some fab samples - two of which were a generously sized eyeshadow primer potion and a mini naked lipgloss.

All in all, it was a really great night. Laura did such an amazing job arranging everything and the photographer (also called Laura ironically) was an absolute star and really helped us take a load off by working her socks off. On top of all of that, I met a group of absolutely lovely ladies and was absolutely spoiled rotten by Rub. What more could a girl want?
 Much love,
