Bangkok Sephora Haul

I'm going to come straight out and admit it: one of things I was most excited to do on my honeymoon in Thailand was go to Sephora. There, I admitted it! I am an addict, and I could not pass up the opportunity to check out how makeup lovers on the other side of the pond get to shop... and naturally ended up doing a bit of a haul which I'm going to share with you lovely lot today.

There were two Sephora's in Bangkok (I know, this is the stuff that dreams are made of), and I decided to check out both of them before deciding on what I wanted to buy. I was a tiny bit disappointed that a few of the brands I really wanted to check out like Anastasia Beverly Hills and Kat Von D weren't there, but I still had lots of choice.

One brand that was there that I have really wanted to try was Makeup Forever so couldn't resist the temptation to pick up their Ultra HD foundation (shade Y215). The assistant helped me check the shades against my neck which was fab, although until my tan fades a bit I won't be able to wear it! I also decided to pick up Sephora's 10hr Wear Perfection Foundation (shade 10), and their concealer as well as they weren't too expensive.

LEFT: Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation on the left, Sephora High Coverage Concealer in the middle and Sephora 10hr Wear Foundation on the right. RIGHT: My happy face after my haul!
On first impressions, I made good choices! The Ultra HD foundation is the thinner of the two but sits really nicely on the skin, and is really buildable which I love! Sephora's is a bit thicker so gives a bit more coverage. I really love how the formula blends in and still doesnt feel too heavy. The concealer is high coverage, and really quite thick as result which means it might not be for everyone, but I personally really like that. It means I don't have to use as much! I'm really interested to see how it sits on my face over the course of a day though. I will have to do a review after a bit of use!

One of the things I knew I was going to buy was a blusher as shockingly, I only had one at home in my collection which meant I could never change it up. I went for the shade 'Shame on You' which is a really dusky pink and very pretty! Its a bit deeper than the other one I own so a nice change! I've swatched it above so you can see the gorgeous duskiness (if that's even a word) of it!

I also bought the Becca Champagne Pop highlighter made in collaboration with Jaclyn Hill. Beauty bloggers have raved about this, but I thought it would just be too gold toned. After swatching it in the store though, I wasn't walking away without it. I am absolutely in love with this highlighter - I think it's my favourite thing out of everything I bought! The pigmentation is amazing and you can get both a subtle highlight or a sharp highlight depending on how much product you use. It is just gorgeous!

My final purchase was Tarte's Lights, Camera, FLASHES mascara. This is the first time I've bought a mascara that doesnt have a traditional bristle brush so I am really interested to see how I get on with this. I've seen really mixed reviews of it, so decided to just give it a go and see what I thought. I haven't had a chance to try this properly yet, but will make sure I do a full review on how I got on with it in the next month or so!

So that was everything that made it into my basket. I had so much fun browsing and swatching everything, literally spending like two hours in the store. Next on my list is getting to America so I can visit a bigger Sephora, and all of the other makeup stores!

Is there anything here that caught your eye, or a product you would love to buy from Sephora? Let me know in the comments below!

Much love,

  2. I love the Becca highlighters, I haven't got Champagne Pop but got a really similar shade and it's so creamy. I haven't tried much of Sephoras own range but plan to grab some in America at Christmas x

Sephora shopping is the best kind of retail therapy. I wish we had them in the UK!

  4. Lovely haul!! I also had no luck with ABH the counter I did find was always so empty 😩 Gutted as I'm desperate to try the liquid lipsticks. What finish is the Sephora foundation ? I like the look of that but I prefer my foundations dewy and luminous as I'm on the dry side. Have you tried the too faced better than sex mascara ? That's so good, but this tarte one is on my list.😍

    1. Thanks lovely! There wasn't even a counter for ABH at either of the Sephora's, I was pretty gutted. Booking up for a trip to New York soon I am hoping though, so hopefully will get to do a shop there!

The Sephora foundation is more a matte finish but I have quite dry skin and really like the way it sits on my skin. The MUFE Ultra HD foundation gives a gorgeous dewy finish though, so potentially give that a go!

I haven't but was planning to buy either that, or UD Perversion. Torn between the two! Got a review coming up on the Tarte one which you should definitely read!

I have to say I've gotten on so well with the foundation. Its one of my favourites. Trying not to use it up too quickly though as I have no idea when I will next get to go to a Sephora!

      Thanks for reading!
