Review: Artist of Makeup Contour and Highlight Sticks

Now we've all pretty much heard of contouring, but if you haven't it is (in basic terms) a makeup technique which uses dark and light colours to accentuate and define the features of your face. The way you contour or highlight varies depending on your face shape... although if you are anything like me you won't actually know what your face shape is and will just guess where is best to put it which seems to be working out okay so far!

The popularity of contouring means that finding the right product for you can be super overwhelming because there is just so much choice out there and everyone seems to be recommending something different from powders and creams to contour sticks. I personally started off using the Naked Flushed Palette but just felt like it wasn't' giving me the sharp contour I was looking for so went in search of something else and came across the Artist of Makeup (AOM) Contour and Highlight sticks on Instagram by Zukreat and fell in love. There were so many videos showing people using the products and I just had to give them a try.

I ordered the light highlight stick and went with the medium contour stick (£18.95 each) which I thought would be the best match for my ridiculously pale skin tone. They arrived pretty fast which I was really happy about and the quality of the packaging was great as well so it was an overall great first impression. I swatched the sticks and they were so creamy that I had to have a go at using them straight away. I realised really quickly that less is definitely more with these little beauties as a little bit of product goes a long way. They both blended so well and didn't feel thick or heavy on my face which I loved because if there is one thing I can't stand, it is feeling caked in makeup.

For me, using these sticks is an absolute dream. They give me the sharp contour I want but can also be used for a softer contour if I just use less of the product, so much so that I actually now contour my face most days. This is definitely a product I would recommend because they are just amazing value for money. I've being using these since October now and despite them being used so often they seem to have barely gone down which means they are going to last a pretty decent amount of time.

These beauties are hugely popular among Instagram users and are regularly sold out so if you want them - and I really recommend you do - you might have to sign up to be notified when they are back in stock. You can do that here. Trust me though, they are seriously worth the wait! I will be uploading a post on how I contour my face and the products I use to set it in the coming few weeks so keep an eye out!

Have you ever tried AOM products? What products do you guys use for contouring? I'd love to know what your favourite products are!

Much love,
