A Wonderful Unintended Splurge

Have you ever noticed, when you go into a shopping centre for something in particular you will rarely ever just buy that one thing? I certainly have! Jason and I headed up to the Metrocentre last week so we could go into Kuoni and pay off the last part of our honeymoon (yay!), so naturally I decided to have a little browse before heading back home.

The first place I headed was Boots as I have been wanting to try Maybelline's Age Rewind Eraser eye concealer for a while so thought I would pick one up to try as one of the things I don't have in my makeup collection right now is a concealer which I think isn't helping with the finish of my contour.
I also decided to quickly pick up a mascara as mine is pretty much empty. I used to use this one a while ago and it was great for making my lashes look longer so I figured it will do until I find a new one to try; if you guys have any recommendations please do comment below.

I also picked up some brow stencils which I have been after for so long because honestly I am at a point of despair with my brows. Supposedly they are meant to be sisters, and not twins according to the saying but my brows are at a push, half sisters, maybe even cousins. I am so excited to try them out and try and get them to be more symmetrical. I will do a post on them once I have had a go!

We also went into 'The Works' to have a browse around as we love picking up books from there, they usually have lots of awesome books for Jason's Sports Science degree. They had so many colouring books on offer as well that I decided to grab myself one as part of my little resolution to take more time doing things I want to do, rather than things I have to do. I wasn't too impressed with the pens there though as the nibs seemed quite thick, so I have ordered some from Amazon by Staedtler as my beautiful sister in law recommended them when we were chatting about it during one of our girls (wine) nights in.

My biggest and favourite purchase however was a new laptop! I hadn't actually planned on getting one but the deals were too good to miss out on. I have had my laptop for a three years... and in the first year spilled a pint of juice over it (I know, so clumsy).

Credit where it is due though, as it managed to recover and soldiered on for another few years before it has gotten to the point where it really just can't manage anymore. So my old reliable has (happily) retired today, and I am now learning the ropes with my new ASUS. I am super excited to finish getting it all set up and start using it properly... I just have to get all of the important things off my other one first!

All in all, a pretty successful day (if not an expensive one, oops!). I am really pleased with my purchases and I am super excited to try out the brow stencils I picked up. They might become a must have piece of kit for me when it comes to doing my makeup!

What is your favourite thing in your makeup bag that you just couldn't be without? I would love to know, just drop a comment below.

Much love,
