2016: The sky is the limit

For my family, 2015 was a life changing year because after five years together we were lucky enough to finally get to marry each other after a looooong four year engagement. I thought it would be a lovely idea to share a little of what this year holds for me.

So unsurprisingly, I am so excited for 2016 as we get to go on our honeymoon!! I know, I know, that is supposed to happen straight after the wedding, right? Not for us, University commitments (unfortunately) came first and we decided to book the honeymoon for April 2016 in the half term. Luckily for us it will double up as a much needed break before Jason sits his summer exams and I approach my dissertation deadline (eek!).
Come April 8th we will be flying out to Thailand to spend three nights in Bangkok where I can indulge in shopping and sightseeing, then it is on to eight blissful nights in Koh Samui tucked up in a villa in the mountains... perfect!

Our honeymoon isn't the only thing on the calendar already though! On the 21st, we have tickets to see Jamie Lawson at Manchester which Jason bought me for my birthday - I am so excited about this! When we got married our first dance song was Jamie Lawson's 'I wasn't expecting that' which at the time (October), hadn't really been discovered yet and hit the charts. It became so popular after the wedding that we would hear it playing everywhere, it made me smile so much as it would make me remember the day every time.  I feel so lucky that we managed to get tickets for the show and cannot wait to hear our song sang live from the man himself.

I've promised myself that 2016 is really going to be my year (cliché, I know). It's time to remember what it is like to have a hobby and something I enjoy outside of working and studying. This lady refuses to 'eat, sleep, work, and repeat' my way through another year. With no wedding to pay for, I am looking forward to treating myself, and my little family and enjoying all those little moments that cant pass by so easily. I cant wait to share all of my purchases and experiences with you all!

Even though I don't strictly believe in making resolutions each year, as lets be honest none of us usually stick to them, I do believe in setting goals and having (realistic-ish) hopes and dreams. I think taking more time out from everyday life for me is pretty realistic, right?

Let me know what you hope to do this year by dropping a comment below.

 Much love,
